This view is suggesting vaguely but intensely that something has happened in here. And I could naturally imagine it probably came from some crazy people. Because I was experiencing people’s riotous joviality during the soccer world cup these days, both visually and auditorially.
In the streets there were people shouting, the sounds of blowing the bugles, laughter… it was like a symphony, sometimes the brasses becoming most ear-splitting, sometimes flutes sighing away… looking around, everywhere were different orange color clothes, flags on faces, exaggerated hats, huge glasses, bracelets, necklaces… and sometimes each detail gripped me, and the more I wanted to concentrate on it the less I grasped the whole. And people drank in the gladness, breaking glasses, making noise…
Imagining all of these, it was no doubt that it must be some drunken residents did it in here. And it is usual to see some broken window, door, chair… in our building. These are some photos I shot when I saw them.
But my reasoning seemed not exactly all right when I noticed these two images, while I was looking back my photos.
I had shot them some days ago in the corridor. There was a paper missing in one of the photos, but the position of the broken glasses had not changed. Looking at it carefully, it was an overdue message about Internet in 2009; no one could take interest in it. So I thought about workers, who manage or clean the building. And it just gave me another idea that workers also cannot ignore this event, although I still couldn’t understand why did they not clean the glass but only took a paper?
After two days, I saw a worker was fixing the exit box, and I was curious to ask him whether some residents had broken it? He said no, because the inside lights did not work, he had to take out the old one and change a new one.
My guess was being proved, how great to know something before just by closely seeing through photographs. Okay, what do you want to know? Love? Life? Future… Making photos… Doing action is always more powerful than imagination.
